On The Outskirts of Jerusalem

Jesus chose his moments carefully — and where he told a parable matters just as
much as what he said. Standing near Jerusalem, on the outskirts of the city
where he would soon be crucified, Jesus told the Parable of the Ten Minas. It
was his last urgent call for people to wake up, see the King, and respond.
In this sermon, we examine the four crowds in the parable: the faithful servants
who multiplied what they were given, the fearful servant who buried his gift out
of a distorted view of God, the enemies who openly rejected the King's reign,
and the bystanders — those who watched from the sidelines without ever getting
involved.
The challenge of this message is simple but profound: don't be a fly on the
wall. God's forbearance gives us time to repent, to move, and to invest our
lives in what matters. Faith without movement is dead. Whatever mina God has
placed in your hands — get off the wall and do something with it.
